A copy of the letter and the draft revised CoP are attached for your perusal and comment. </span></p> <p><span class="style2">Issued by the Commissioner for Labour in 2002, the CoP provides practical guidance to the industry on the safe and proper use of tower cranes with a view to assist the duty holders to prevent accidents. In the Chief Executive's 2009-10 policy address, the Labour Department was tasked to review the CoP as to incorporate the best practices recommended in the "Guidelines on Safety of Tower Cranes" issued by the Construction Industry Council, which focused mainly on the erection, dismantling and height alteration operations of tower cranes in construction sites. </span></p> <p><span class="style2">The review of the CoP and the drafting of the amendments have been completed.
