Safety Practitioner Forum on Developing Safety Performance Indicators for Construction Industry
The Hong Kong Federation of Occupational Safety and Health Associations (HKFOSHA) will organize the captioned Forum with details as follows:

Mr. Yu, is an experienced safety professional of more than 40 years. Before retirement, he had been working as a Factory Inspector in the Labour Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Council as senior consultant. He had engaged in developing ISAS safety audit system for Works Bureau and Housing Department construction projects and writing a guide to construction safety management. Development programmes for work safety behaviour, safety climate and safety culture, pointing and calling programme for industries and development of safety audit system ISAS version 1.3.1 for the Hong Kong Housing Society construction projects in 2013.
Programme Highlights
Using safety audit alone for measuring the safety performance particularly after the occurrence of fatal accident of contractors is reactive and insufficient to reflect the ability of contractor in preventing the recurrence of the accident. Safety Management Systems need indicators to illustrate the system is function normally. Measuring should include the best of both conventional techniques and the new techniques to give messages of system failures on their possible causes/consequences and solutions. The talk will cover Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs), its strategic plan, how to fit SPIs within the normal safety and health monitoring activities, model of quality management, and organization arrangements to implement SPIs……
