建造業同心抗疫 關愛工友度時艱
各位建造業界朋友：
自2019冠狀病毒病疫情於香港爆發以來，建造業受到廣泛影響，建造業議會於二月與業界聯合推動「建造業抗疫關愛行動」，成功籌得約港幣2,000萬元善款，並推出一連串關愛行動，與業界同心抗疫。為支援前線工友，我們舉辦多次大規模抗疫物資派發行動，包括向全港接近10萬位長者工友及超過5萬位使用議會註冊服務的工友派發關愛包。此外，行動亦為不幸感染2019冠狀病毒病或接受強制隔離的工友，提供即時現金及關愛支援，至今受惠工友逾1,100人，批出生活津貼及抗疫物資金額總數超過港幣1,200萬元。
近日香港的疫情出現第三波，確診個案大增，亦有多宗個案涉及地盤工友，形勢嚴峻。在此關鍵時刻，我們呼籲各位保持個人衞生及社交距離，減低傳播風險。此外，希望業界繼續向因染病或接受強制隔離的工友施以援手，共度難關。如 閣下或身邊有業界人士需要支援，請致電2100 9000查詢，並透過Whatsapp（電話：9764 1945）遞交申請。

Fight against Novel Coronavirus
Dear Friends and Partners,
Since the COVID-19 outbreak in Hong Kong, the construction industry has been affected tremendously. In February, the Construction Industry Council (CIC) joined hands with the industry and launched 'Construction Industry Caring Campaign - Fight against Novel Coronavirus', successfully raising about HK$20 million donation. Multiple initiatives have been implemented so far to offer immediate aids to the industry and combat the virus together. To support the frontline workers, we have organised several large-scale anti-epidemic materials distribution events, including the distribution of caring packs to nearly 100,000 elderly construction workers and 50,000 workers who use the CIC's registration services. Besides, monetary assistance and caring support is provided to registered workers who are infected with COVID-19 or quarantined due to the disease. Over 1,100 workers are benefit under this scheme and the total expenditure on living allowance and anti-epidemic materials purchase exceeds HK$12 million since its launch.Recently, Hong Kong is facing the 3rd wave of infections and seeing a surge in confirmed cases, and several construction workers were among the new cases. At this critical time, the CIC appeals to all of you to maintain good personal hygiene and social distancing to reduce infection risk. More importantly, the CIC hopes to offer support to workers who are infected or quarantined due to the disease. An accident happened on the morning of 14 Jul 2020 on a construction site at Kai Tak, in which a worker while assisting in loading machine components onto the compartment of a lorry was hit by a machine component slid down on the lorry compartment. He was injured and certified dead in the hospital.
The Construction Industry Council (CIC) would like to deliver this safety message for your attention. It would be much appreciated if you could distribute the message below to your fellow members, relevant personnel or other industry stakeholders where appropriate.
