The Society has organized an OSH Visit to Macau on 2 December 2017. The details of the visit are as follows:
Date: 2 December 2017 (Saturday)
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (5 Hrs CPD)
Venue: Companhia de Electricdade de Macau - CEM (am)
Construction Project “D Hotel新濠天地”(pm)
All participants will meet at 3/F Shun Tak Centre, 200 Connaught Road Central, Hong Kong. (Assembly at 07:30 am for registration) The ferry will leave at 8:00 a.m. Please be punctual.
Please complete & return the enrolment form together with the pay slip to SRSO via srso@srso.org.hk on or before 18 Nov 2017.
You are reminded to produce your membership cards at the assembly point.

尊敬的業界友好：
2018建造業開心跑暨嘉年華
為鼓勵建造業從業員關注健康及關懷社會，建造業議會已於2016年推出「建造業運動及義工計劃」－樂健行義。此計劃旨在讓從業員透過參與多元化的運動及義工服務，強身健體和幫助有需要的人士，為社會注入正能量。
建造業運動及義工計劃統籌辦事處將於2018年1月舉辦「2018建造業開心跑暨嘉年華」，藉此加強凝聚各業界從業員及建立積極運動文化。長跑比賽為計劃重點運動項目之一，活動詳情如下：
日期：2018年1月7日 (星期日)
時間：上午8時至下午1時
地點：建造業議會大埔訓練場
(地址：新界大埔大華街)
當天除了10公里比賽及3公里開心跑外，比賽期間更會舉行嘉年華會，歡迎各從業員帶同家屬好友一起歡度周日。是次活動的全數報名費，將會捐予「建造業關懷基金」。
我們誠意邀請各業界友好團體組隊參加，除了各項比賽的獎項外，更特別設立「全場總冠軍」及「人才濟濟獎」兩個團體獎項，鼓勵建造業團體員工積極參予此項盛事。
另外，活動當日亦會進行「建造業機械操作比賽2017頒獎典禮」，歡迎業界友好蒞臨支持。
現附上「2018建造業開心跑暨嘉年華」活動資料、個人報名表格及團體報名總表以供參考。有意參加的團體，請按夾附「總表」的須知填妥有關表格連同報名費於2017年11月8日或之前寄交本辦事處。名額有限，若報名人數多於活動名額，大會將採取先到先得的方式分配名額，額滿即止。

Dear members,
The Society has requested the Development Bureau to clarify the issue regarding the amendment of the Construction Site Safety Manual on “the new requirement of RSO in complex or involves high risk operations” through the Federation. Below is the information for your reference.
I am writing in reference to the internal memo (ref: DEVB(W) 516/71/01) of the Development Bureau regarding the amendment of the Construction Site Safety Manual. We have the following enquiry from members especially Registered Safety Officers that we hope the Bureau can clarify.
In Chapter 7 of the Manual, paragraph 7.3 “Employment and Performance of Registered Safety Officers (RSO)”, mentions that:
(d)(v) - “When the nature of the Works is complex, or involves high risk operations, the proposed RSO should possess relevant engineering background and adequate experience meeting the requirements of the Contract”
Can you please further elaborate the terms of “relevant engineering background” and “adequate experience”. We would also appreciate it if you can briefly introduce the method of how these parameters can be distinguished and quantified.
On 7 Nov 2017, the Development Bureau has replied the Federation about our enquiry. Below is the self-explanation for your reference.
